BIOGRAPHY

Oleksandr Stoianov was born in Crimea. Engaged in ballroom dancing for only half a year, at the age of 10 years, Oleksandr managed to win the 1st and 2nd places in local championships in ballroom dancing. In 1998 Oleksandr entered in Kyiv State Choreographic School and graduated it in 2006 under hos teacher, Honored Artist of Ukraine Vladimir Denisenko.

In 2006, after graduating from the KGHU, Alexander became a soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine. In the same year he received an invitation to work at the Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theater in St. Petersburg, and a few years later he was invited by the Bolshoi Theater and the Berlin Opera. 

In the National Opera of Ukraine, Alexander performs the leading roles of almost the entire repertoire: 

– Siegfried in the ballet «Swan Lak»

– Nutcracker in the ballet «The Nutcracker»

– Prince Désiré in the ballet «The Sleeping Beauty»

– Escamillo, José in the ballet «Carmen-suite»

– John in the ballet «Zorba The Greek»

– Basilio in the ballet «Don Quixote»

– Albert in the ballet «Giselle»

– James in the ballet «La Sylphide»

– Conrad and faithful Ali in the ballet «Le Corsaire»

– Voland in the ballet «Master and Margarita»

– Romeo in the ballet «Romeo and Juliet»

– Golden Slave in the ballet «Sheherazade»

– Crassus in the ballet «Spartacus»

– Lukash in the ballet «The Forest Song»

– Michael in the ballet «Children of the Night» and other.

Oleksandr Stoianov dances with ballerinas such as: Kateryna Kukhar (National Opera of Ukraine), Iana Salenko (Staatsballett Berlin) , Anna Nikulina, Petra Conti (La Scala / Boston Ballet / Los Angeles Ballet), Ana Sophia Scheller (New York City Ballet / San Francisco Ballet / National Opera of Ukraine) and other ballerinas.

WORK WITH INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS

He is the organizer of the festival «BALLET OPEN SPACE». Honorary member of the jury, guest artist of the concluding Galas of concerts, teacher of master classes at international competitions “Tanzolymp”, “Seoul International Dance Competition”, “All-Ukrainian Dance Assembly”.
